This privacy policy governs your use of the security monitoring system “WeCare” that includes an application for mobile devices that was created by R.S.R. n.v. The complete system serves to trace elderly or people living in high risk situations in such a way that alerts are generated when someone on premises most likely requires aid of some kind.

What information does WeCare obtain and how is it used?

WeCare uses physical sensors that measure presence and movement of people within their reach. That can include movement detectors, contact switches, door switches and proximity switches. All events that are measured on any of these devices is registered and analysed.

With these raw data WeCare constructs a “normal” pattern of living of the people in the scope of the installation. If any event is detected or in case there is no event measured during an abnormally long time, the WeCare processor emits an alert that is routed to destinations as chosen by the inhabitants of the premises or their representatives. This can include family, neighbours, neighbourhood organizations, nursing organizations, call centers, etc.

User Provided Information

The System registers information about its users in for as far as required for the System to function correctly. This includes names and addresses of the people on the monitored premises, and contact information of the people that are registered to receive notification of the alerts (phone number, email address, etc). Each user is the owner of her own data and can at any time erase this data or modify it. In that case the service is modified accordingly (e.g. no more alerts, no more monitoring).

We do not use the information provided to us to contact your with information other that what is emitted by WeCare functionally (alerts).

Automatically Collected Information

No data is collected other than the on premises data needed to determine the normal behavior of the people living there. The data that is collected can be further used in a depersonalized way for scientific investigation and broad population statistics. In no case is the data traceable back to the people that indirectly generated it.

Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?

WeCare does not collect any information about the location of your mobile device.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve the System and our service as well as for scientific research. We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

as required by law, such as to comply with applicable legal processes;
any data, whole or partial, that is shared with possible partners, is strictly depersonalized and rendered anonymous, with no possibility at all to trace it back to any individual person
if R.S.R. n.v. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.

What are my opt-out rights?

At any time all personal data are readable to those people themselves, with the possibility to delete these data. This will remove the possibility to access the related services also.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

Data is retained in back up for technical recovery reasons only. When a person removes her data, it will be removed from the live system, but not from the existing backup media. As these are used strictly only in case of data loss and the requirement to rebuild the System, there is a possibility that data reappears after having been removed. This is unintentional, but the user can return to the System and simply repeat the delete operation.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here and informing you via email or text message. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing,” means using cookies on a computer/hand held device or using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using and combining information. The information is kept in the European Union and is protected legally by the GDPR. If your location is outside the EU, the data is transferred to the EU, and is managed in compliance with the GDPR regulation.
